episode #11 Hannah Peel
Hannah Peel returns and series two continues! Hannah is an amazingly talented composer, electronic musician, songwriter, arranger, conductor, multi-instrumentalist - too talented i’d say. She’s been on the podcast before on an ‘extra mess episode’. In this episode we talk about new things…we recorded her episode shortly after she received an Emmy Nomination for her score to Jeanie Finlay’s official Game of Thrones Documentary ‘The Last Watch’ - so of course we start our chat there. We also talk about an amazing album she released this year, Chalk Hill Blue. A collaborative project with a brilliant poet, Will Burns.
I loved making this episode and especially loved making a track with Hannah using her famous music box.
Enjoy listening to this deep dive into Hannah’s music.

As is the way in excuse the mess we took on the challenge of co-writing a brand new track using only one instrument (the music box) and electronic manipulations of it.
We’re really happy with how it came out.
Listen to the MUSIC MAKING part to follow the evolution of the piece, starting from absolutely nothing.
Check out all the tracks from the episode in their uninterrupted glory of Spotify
photography by Max Adelman.
